Changes to Sinemet 100/25

In late 2011, Merck Canada changed the appearance and formulation of various dosages of Sinemet.  The most recent change is to Sinemet 100/25.

Highlights of the changes to Sinemet 100/25 are:
  • Change in the shape from oval to round.
  • Change in colour to a slightly paler beige.
  • Scoring: the new tablets are not scored.
  • Storage conditions have changed.
  • Non-medicinal ingredients are different and are described in a letter from Merck Canada. CLICK HERE to access full details on these ingredients.
Merck Canada has produced a Sinemet and Sinemet CR tablet comparison chart to provide further clarification on the appearance of the 'old' and 'new' pills.  CLICK HERE to view the chart.
