Parkinson Society British Columbia invites you to join us for our provincial conference, Moving Forward, Together (MFT), on Saturday, October 15th at the Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport.

Our in-person provincial conference aims to foster an educational and inspirational space to enrich connections between people with Parkinson's, carepartners, friends, and healthcare professionals. Featuring prominent local and national presenters, Moving Forward, Together will offer a diversified agenda.

In addition to our two morning plenaries, you'll be able to choose two of eight afternoon breakout sessions to attend. A special two-part breakout stream created for healthcare professionals will also be offered to help expand knowledge of Parkinson’s disease.

Lunch will be served at the conference, with sandwich choice selection available at the point of registration.

Wellness rooms:

This year, there will be an opportunity to take advantage of our wellness rooms which provide attendees options for relaxing retreats including a quiet room, massage room, exercise room, and guided meditation room. Access to these rooms will not require prior pre-registration but will be available by drop in/sign-up sheet on the day of the conference.

Hotel Rooms

Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport is pleased to provide conference attendees with a special room rate of $169 (CAD), which will be available for booking until September 13, 2022, or until the block has been sold out.

Update: The block has been sold out.

For additional requests, please email reservations@radissonvancouver.com for in-house reservations. Based on Radisson's availability they will do their best to offer a better rate.

Directions

To get to Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport, the following instructions may be of assistance if you're driving.

FROM VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

  1. Follow Grant McConachie Way
  2. Stay in the right hand lane and take the Richmond turn off
  3. Turn right on No. 3 Road
  4. Follow 2 blocks to Cambie Road
  5. The hotel is on the corner of No. 3 Road and Cambie

FROM DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER

OVER THE OAK STREET BRIDGE

    1. Take Oak Street over the Oak Street Bridge
    2. Stay on your right hand lane and take the first exit Sea Island Way to No. 3 Road
    3. Turn left on No. 3 Road and go 3 blocks to Cambie Road
    4. The hotel is on the corner of No. 3 Road and Cambie

OVER KNIGHT STREET BRIDGE 

    1. Follow Knight Street South which will take you over the Knight Street Bridge
    2. Take the Bridgeport Exit and follow Bridgeport Road heading West 
    3. Turn left on No. 5 Road
    4. Turn right on Cambie Road 
    5. Continue on Cambie Road and the hotel will be on your right hand side

FROM PEACE ARCH (BORDER CROSSING) 

  1. Follow Interstate 5 to the border.
  2. Cross the border and Interstate 5 will turn into Highway 99
  3. Follow Highway 99 North through the George Massey Tunnel
  4. Take the Westminster Highway via No. 5 Road West Bound exit
  5. Go over the overpass
  6. Continue on Westminster Highway and turn right on No. 3 Road 
  7. Continue North on No. 3 Road until you reach Cambie Road

FROM BC FERRIES (TSAWWASSEN) 

  1. Take Highway 17 which turns into Highway 99
  2. Follow Highway 99 North through the George Massey Tunnel
  3. Take the Westminster Highway via No. 5 Road West Bound exit
  4. Go over the overpass
  5. Continue on Westminster Highway and turn right on No. 3 Road 
  6. Continue North on No. 3 Road until you reach Cambie Road

Parking

Complimentary parking for attendees, volunteers, and staff of the conference is available at the following locations [view map]:

  1. Blue Zone on the 5th floor of the President Parkade (right next to the hotel) complimentary to all conference attendees, volunteers, and PSBC staff.
  2. 2nd and 3rd floor of the President Parkade (right next to the hotel). 

Please do not park in the Red Zone on the 5th floor or the ground level of the President Plaza.

Lunch Options

During your registration, you will be asked to select a lunch option for each individual you are registering. Each sandwich comes in a box with a fresh baked cookie and old fashioned potato salad with egg (appropriate substitutions are made for dietary requirements).

As we are aware some individuals may have dietary restrictions, we have a variety of options available. The following are fuller descriptions of what is contained in each sandwich option:

  • Tuna Sandwich – albacore tuna salad with crisp capers, avocado aioli, and fresh dill on county loaf bread
  • Tuna Sandwich (Gluten Free) – albacore tuna salad with crisp capers, avocado aioli, and fresh dill on gluten free bread
  • Roast Beef Sandwich – 24 hour roast beef sirloin, peppercorn aioli, and crisp onions on rosemary bread
  • Ham Sandwich – cotto ham and havarti, artisan lettuce, and maple mustard on yukon gold scallion bread
  • Vegetable Sandwich – maple roasted vegetables with kale, swiss cheese, and thyme on toasted grain bread
  • Vegetable Sandwich (Vegan) – maple roasted vegetables with kale, and thyme on toasted grain bread
