As of February 16, there have been numerous changes to the Provincial Health Officer's (PHO) province-wide COVID-19 restrictions, such as:

Please note that masks are still required in all public settings, and proof of vaccination continues to be required for travel and certain events, services, and businesses.

As a result of the eased restrictions, Parkinson Society BC (PSBC) will resume in-person support group meetings for those who sign and adhere to the requirements outlined in our indoor meeting agreement. These include:

  • Providing proof of double-vaccination
  • Wearing masks indoors if physical distancing is not possible
  • Using hand sanitizer before and after the meeting
  • Encouraging unvaccinated members to attend virtually

If support groups prefer to remain virtual, they are welcome to use PSBC’s Zoom accounts.

Parkinson Society BC remains committed to protecting and serving the Parkinson’s community. We recognize that the indoor meeting requirements are subject to change based on the Provincial Health Officer’s orders. As a result, PSBC will continue to monitor the situation and will promptly communicate any changes to support group members.

For more information, or to sign the indoor meeting agreement, please contact Liz Janze, Education and Support Services Coordinator, at ljanze@parkinson.bc.ca or by telephone at 1-800-668-3330 Ext. 228.
