Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR!) was developed by Dr. Becky Farley using her 30 years of experience in neurorehabilitation. It uses research-based exercise programming beginning with diagnosis in order to improve quality of life. Furthermore, it takes the approach that exercise is medicine.

The exercise moves taught as a part of this regime are generalizable, customizable, assessable, and modifiable. As a result, they allow therapists to establish the program for life practice; to modify the positions and movements for varying levels of disease severity, fitness or conditions; to progress the difficulty and complexity; and to integrate them into a comprehensive rehab program with other research approaches.

Parkinson Society British Columbia has offered community talks in a number of communities across BC allowing the introduction of PWR! techniques to those affected by PD. Futhermore, in an effort to expand our reach, the Society has invested in training physiotherapists and qualified fitness trainers so that they may utilize PWR! techniques in classes in their hometowns.
