Dr. Melissa Mackenzie Biography

Dr Mackenzie Dr. Melissa Mackenzie is a Movement Disorder Specialist at the Pacific Parkinson Research Centre (PPRC) Movement Disorder Clinic at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She has years of experience helping Parkinson’s patients. Prior to her position at PPRC, she completed medical school in Toronto, a neurology residency at UBC, and two years of fellowship specializing in movement disorders at UBC and in London, UK.

Dr. Jennifer Locke Biography

Dr Locke Dr. Jennifer Locke is a new Urologist in Kelowna. She completed a PhD and residency in urology at the University of British Columbia, followed by her fellowship training at the University of Toronto in functional and reconstructive urology. She has expertise in neurogenic bladder.

3:40pm - 4:15pm - Nutrition in PD: Dr. Sally Stewart, Associate Professor of Teaching in Health and Exercise Sciences and the Director of the Nutrition Education Centre at UBC Okanagan

Dr. Sally Stewart Biography

Dr Stewart

Dr. Sally Stewart has her PhD in interdisciplinary studies: nutrition, exercise physiology, and health promotion. She is an Associate Professor of Teaching in Health and Exercise Sciences and the Director of the Nutrition Education Center at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan (UBCO), an Academic Affiliate of the Dietitians of Canada, IOC Sort Nutrition Designation, and a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist.

Dr. Stewart has been teaching in higher education for over 30 years at UBCO since 2006. She is a passionate, positive, and energetic presenter when sharing knowledge, skills, and tools for optimal health. Her focus is on facilitating health through nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle practices on personal health or wellbeing challenges. She aims to empower and inspire students and the community.
